RSS Feed Update

A while back, Brian let me know that my feed was messed up. His aggregator kept telling him that I had a ton of new feeds, only when he'd read them, they were duplicates. He sent me a copy of the XML file that his aggregator, RSS Bandit, uses to keep track of new posts. The strange thing: the dupes were showing up because sometimes, not always, a post would show up on blog.angrypets.com/blog/ AND/OR angrypets.com/blog/.

Well, I took a looksie at my feed last week (forgot to post my findings). I looked at the RSS generated by .Text to make sure it wasn't the culprit. Nope. All posts were listed as coming strictly from angrypets.com/blog/. I then wondered if feedburner was the culprit - as I use it to distribute my feed (so'z I can get cool metrics about who or what is subscribing). But, I checked that feed too. Nothing wrong there either.

So... this leaves me to blame Brian's Aggregator, RSS Bandit? But that seems pretty crazy. Lots of people use it. I can't imagine that it would be messed up. *scratches head*

Anyone else habitually seeing what looks like a double-dose of lovin' from Mikeey, only to find out that it's just a bunch of dupes?

Yup...I'm seeing the exact same behaviour, and I'm using NewsGator, not RSS Bandit.

   Grrrr.

I HATE it when people's feeds do that.

Guess I'll keep digging that (especially since I now hate my feed).

Thanks for the feedback Xander.
