Motly idiots

I can't believe this is actually a story. I can't believe we've come to this. I can't believe another person who makes insane amounts of money doesn't have a clue about life, liberty, or freedom. I couldn't even get past the first paragraph in the NYT (quoted below, so you won't have to register if you don't want to):
"In the latest twist in the broadening battle overdecency [sic] standards, the glam-metal band Mötley Crüe filed suit against NBC yesterday. The suit states that the network violated the group's free-speech rights and weakened its sales by banning it after Vince Neil, the lead singer, used an expletive on the air in a Dec. 31 appearance on "The Tonight Show."

Now just a minute. If you MORONS want to use expletives on television, FINE. GET YOUR OWN STATION! Nothing in the Constitution requires NBC to let you on their airwaves. NOTHING.

MORONS like these guys diminish everyone's rights when they pretend to drape themselves in the same flag that protects free speech. Free speech was protected to allow us to fight injustice in government, and inequality in society. Pretending that this is somehow what it has come to mean tarnishes it for the rest of us. AND, if they're doing it as a publicity stunt (which we all know they are) they really deserve to be run out of the country for taking so lightly something that so many people through history would have so dearly cherished.
