Betting against morons...

So... I'm working on loading Team Foundation Server onto a VPC. I'm just working on creating some MSDN content... and eventually need TFS and Visual Studio 2005 on the same machine... so I needed to promote the machine to being a win2k3 domain controller.

I did that before installing IIS, SQL Server 2005, WSS, TFS and then VS2005. It was COOL to see my sa password get challenged during the installation of SQL Server 2005 because Active Directory had a policy in place for strong passwords.

The funny thing is that my Administrator password on the same box? you guessed it. Blank. The funny thing is that dcpromo let me completely promote this box to a DC with a blank password -- without even so much as a single alert along the lines of "Only a complete moron would do something this dumb, are you sure you'd like to proceed (moron)?" Maybe it's because MS never really thought somebody would do something so dumb in real life. Anybody want to BET it's NOT out in production somewhere in the world?
