Dvorak on MS vs Linux

I've always enjoyed how some within the Linux Community act as if they'll put MS out of business some day when Linux takes over the world.

What I've loved about that idea is the fact that, in their minds, MS would just roll over and play dead, or simply wouldn't be able to compete featureset/price-wise and would crumple.

Honestly, if Linux started taking over, it's open source. Who's to say MS wouldn't just offer their own version? Like RedHat does? Frankly, if MS did do that they'd be able to charge MORE for their OS licenses than they are charging now (it's no secret that RecHat is charging more for Linux than MS charges for XP).

At least, I've always though along the above lines. John Dvorak puts an entirely new spin on it. He touches on some aspects I'd not really considered before.

See, I'd always looked at it as MS competing with Linux in an open manner. Mr. Dvorak approaches it from a way for MS to KILL Linux.
